Adding Vista to Xp system

By pointguard15 ·
Hi, i built a computer from the ground up, and i have Win XP Pro on a hard drive with one partition (C:\) it takes up the whole drive and i want to upgrade to Vista. i have a new Hard drive laying around, and i tried installing it to that hard drive and it worked. but i lost access to the old hard drive...

also i can't get a Dual-boot going casue they are on Master, and Slave setup, so i have to change stuff in BIOS to get it to boot into XP, or Vice Versa.. is there a way i can get it to Dual Boot?

or have access to the rest of my other hard drive that has XP on it from Vista?

im confused right now. and its making me angry casue i bought a small 40Gig for Vista, to add it to my 120, and when running Vista i only get that 40 gig, and cant use the 120..... last resort of reformatting both drives and starting from scratch is an option.... but i need instructions of what order and stuff to do that. so if there is a way to save my stuff and not reformat all the better..

Answer fully please, and dont waste my time asking BS questions.. Thanks in advance
