AddRemove Programs

By shanekirkman ·
Hi! Hope someone can help! O/S WIN/ME
When I open AddRemove Programs and then click on Windows setup the computer starts to search for installed windows programs, then pops up an old 3.1 error box (white box ) saying Rundll32 an error has occured
click ignore or close (blah,blah,).
When I click on close I get a grey box saying
:Rundll32 has caused an error in SETUPX.DLL Rundll32 will now close. If you continue to experience problems, try restarting your computer.
I have tryed reinstalling Rundll32.exe and SETUPX.DLL, Running scanreg , booting into DOS and typing scanreg /fix, scanreg /opt and scanreg /restore , all to no avail.
I ran System restore but that didn't fix the problem.
The only thing I could find relating to the prob was a logfile in System Infomation/Tools/FaultLog Which said :
**********************************************************************
Date 01/27/2003 Time 03:32
RUNDLL32 caused a general protection fault
in module SETUPX.DLL at 0007:00005672.

AddRemove Programs

First, backup your registry. Then copy and paste the following text into Notepad, starting with Regedit right down to the dotted line (do not include dotted line). Save it with the name Setup.reg. Then find that file and double-click on it. Foundthis info at:
