Address Assignment conflict

I have a Compaq DeskPro Series SFF running W98. It comes up with an error message "611-Primary Floppy Port Adress Assignment conflict". I cannot to to setup (F10). We are Novell client running on W2000 server. What are the possible causes?

It's an IRQ assignment conflict =>You must go into the BIOS and either correct the IRQ conflict or disable the floppy - what do you mean by:

Icannot to to setup (f10)?

Older Compaqs installed the configurable portion of the BIOS on a non DOS Partition. If that partition has been deleted or BIOS software is corrupt, you cannot access BIOS configuration.

Compaq has (or did have) BIOS installation software and instructions for using it on their web site. Would now be

I am unable to go into cmos. The screen shows "F-10 setup", but does nothing once I try to go there. There are also two beeps at power-up. I cannot always get a screen at power-up, either. It is intermittant.
