Admin Logon Issue

By RiRi ·
I cannot logon as Administrator using the (I am absolutely positive) correct password. This is to a laptop that I configured as Admin a few weeks ago. We've been having to logon 2-3 times using our regular user Id's & passwords with our regular PCs. Is this a server issue? How do I logon to the laptop? Thanks.

Ok so you have a W2K laptop that when you try and logon locally you are being denied access is that correct ? Does this machine have the Service Pack for W2K installed on it ? If you have been having this problem with several of your desktops thatare physically connected to your LAN I would think that you have a bigger problem with your PDC and/or BDC. How many PDCs and BDCs are on your network ? How many user accounts are these machines supporting ?

I know this may sound redundant but have you tried to logon using password in CAPS, or another variation? Have you tried logging on as a local Administrator? Sorry, but I know that sometimes I have to try the dumb things too.
