Adminisrative or Hidden shares

By Whattodo ·
Is there any way to permanently disable or rename the default hidden shares (C$, D$, ADMIN$, etc)that share when the PC or server boots. I have been looking for a related registry key but have been unable to find any.

If you want apply this to all computers you can use Policies editor to implement general strategy.
Open a new policies and in default computer\WindowsNT network\sharing - disable - create hidden drive shares.
Also in Network\System policies update- enable remote update.
Save as NTconfig.pol in NETLOGON shares on PDC and BDC.
