administrator restrictions

By lch ·
I'm trying to take a computer off of a domain, but when I try to access to network control panel I get a message that says "administrator retricted access to network control panel" (or something close to that). How do I elimiate the administrator restrictions. A number of different things cannot be accessed due to this type of message. This computer is running windows 98.

I suggest you try to login use administrator of Domain Controller at win98 Logon when Prompt for password.

if not success, please try to use poledit facility from winnt.

On the windows 98 cd you should be able to find POLEDIT run this util double click on the file in the requestor box then open the registry. Next click on the local user icon and then the plus by shell and the restrictions. Uncheck the network neighborhood box to get access the network properties you can brouse the local user and local computer to remove anyother restrictions that you want.
