Adminstrator Rights

By johnhwhiting ·
Under Vista I could delete AVG Free with no problems but now that I have installed Windows 7 it tells me I do not have sufficent rights to do this and must be done by the System Administrator. I am logged on as the System Administrator, left over from Vista - UAC is off - am I being really stupid with this one and is there a simple solution to gain TOTAL CONTROL.

when you launch the uninstaller?

I suspect UAC is somehow rearing its ugly head.

Can you 'upgrade' from Vista to Windows7 ?...

by OldER Mycroft In reply to Adminstrator Rights

I installed from fresh on an empty HDD with a custom boot partition, created solely for Windows 7 RC on a HDD of its own.

I don't have ANY UAC problems at all.

Perhaps you should have installed from scratch?

boot into

safe mode and log into the admin account...control panel...programs and features...that should do it, if not, look for the uninstaller withing AVG itself, i think it has one.
