I have searched the Adobe web site support docs and cannot find the answer to this one, and I have not yet received an answer to an email to them, several days ago.
Acrobat 4.0.5a will install, without distiller, okay. But, try to open a pdf fileand it crashes. Or, double click on a pdf file and Acrobat starts to load, then crashes. I tried to install with distiller, but when it tries to create the distiller printer, it locks up, and only task mgr will end it.
According to Adobe’s doc’s I need to delete certain dll’s (as well as other files), all of which I have deleted, except one – pdfport.dll, which is in use by the system. How do make it not in use by the system so I can delete it? There are no references to acrobat or distiller in the registry or on the harddrives.
Has anyone come across this problem? If so, how did you resolve it?
