Adobe Reader update

By wesley.chin ·
8.1.1 was released to address security issues in the PDF format. Is there a similiar update available for Reader 6? I have some ME machines that have Reader 6 on them.

Latest Update Does not Affect version 6

by TheChas In reply to Adobe Reader update

Per Adobe, the security issue that caused the 8.1.1 update is not present in version 6.

"Root: fixes issue in version 8.1, 8.0. This vulnerability also exists in version 7.0.9 of Adobe Acrobat and Adobe Reader and will be addressed by a separate update. It does not exist in the 6.x code base. A prior work-around for this issue was published as APSA07-04."

The work-around is for version 7 and 8 only.

You should have your Me systems updated to version 6.0.2 of Adobe Reader.

When Adobe moved to 7, they redesigned the engine for it. The problem seems to be with this design only
