Advanced Find Feature in Outlook gives error message

By luiscuradelli ·
Hello people:

I am having an issue with a few people who use the Advanced Find feature in Outlook quite often.

They get the following error message:

There are too many Find Public Folders dialogs open. You must close them in order to use the Advanced Find. Do you want to close them now?

If they click on Yes the get another message stating that "The folder already exists"

They cannot run the "outlook /cleanfinders" command because the Run option has been disabled by Group Policy.

The mailboxes they perform the searches on are about 700MB in size.

I would greatly appreciatte any help on this.

Be bad have fun!

have you got a solution to this problem?

Luis, have you been able to find a solution to the problem regarding "outlook /cleanfinders"? I tried to run "outlook /cleanfinders"; Outlook started; then I was waiting for about 1 hour (not indication that anything was going on in the background); then I tried again to perform a search in outlook, but the same message occurred as before. No idea how to get forward.
Regarding your problem: I am not using the search function any more for searching in emails. I use the very useful add-in from XOBNI (www.xobni.com). Try it! Much faster and much, much better than the Microsoft search option.
Regards, Michael
