Advice on working with a shared mailbox (Outlook).

Hi all, I have just set up a shared mailbox on our exchange server (orders@...) for incoming sales orders. I am just looking for a few ideas how to work it. At the moment:

1) email is received.
2) sales processing staff pick up the email and process the order.

Which is simple enough. Now, I have also given access to our sales managers who will often need to see an emailed order. The problem comes when the sales manager opens an email before it has been processed and therefore flags the email as read. The sales processing team then miss the email and the order is missed completely.

Is there a workaround for this?
