again: from 1 win2k Domain Controller enviornment to 1 win2k3 sbs

By tool001 ·
we have 1 win2k (standard) DC running, everything i.e. DHCP,DNS etc (NO EXCHANGE!)

bought a new windows 2k3 (SBS) and want to migrate to it.

the win2k3 doesnt have anything but the base OS installed on it (i have made it a member of the existing domain). I want to migrate everything to this new server.
i know first i have to run.
1) adprep /frorestperp?
2) adprep /domainprep? on the win2k machine and then dcpromo on the win2k3 machine,
what else needs to be done. on the dhcp and dns side.
any help would be aprreciated.

I am getting ready to do the same thing...

I am getting ready to do the same thing and was wondering how it went and what steps I should follow to do the same thing. I am installing a 2003 server on my network and want to make that the primary domain controller. My current domain controller is running on 2000 server. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Have you migrated yet?

I'm looking to do the same and wondered whether you'd done it and if so, what's the best process?

Thanks
