I recently switched to a career in IT after going as far as I could in my old profession as an auto body repair man.
I am 44 and have been rebuilding and repairing computers for over 10 years, and have 1 1/2 years programming training in Jr. college in the mid 90’s.
I finished the MCSE 2000 track at a local CC but am not yet certified.
I want some more hands on exp first.
I found a job doing network and deskside support at a factory with an IS staff of 6.
I plan to persue a path to system admin and would like to know if anyone else has made it to that position after a late career change.
I enjoy the work and working with the end users but this seems to be a young persons career and I was wondering if I started too late.
Any responsewould be appreciated.
