AGP video card problem

by auksas . Updated 19 years, 2 months ago

Computer is about 3-4 years old Compaq Evo D510 Small Form Factor P4 2.53 mhz, 1GB RAM ,250GB HD.

Motherboard chipset : intel brookdale-G i845G

I`m trying to install AGP ATI Radeon? 7500 video card but not successfully so far.
The problem i have is that computer does not even boot with new card in place.
There is no option on BIOS to disable onboard video card so i guess it should switch automatically .
I updated system BIOS from HP website – no results.
I could not find specific video BIOS to update.

I was unable to install Catalyst drivers for ATI card because it could not find hardware (i need to remove the AGP ATI card in order to boot windows)

What could be the problem?
Please help
