ai roboform toolbar for netscape will not be installed because it does not

By chyann ·
Tuesday I got a roboform update and my toolbar disappeared. I googled it and was told there was an adapter to download. I did, but when I turned the computer off and back on I had to do it again. I left the computer to fix and eat a meal and when I came back there had been more updates and it rebooted. So I had to download the adapter again and fixed it. Today I tried to download it again and got this message: "ai roboform toolbar for netscape will not be installed because it does not provide for secure updates."Plus, all my other toolbars are gone, just the navigation and bookmark toolbars are left.

How do I get my Roboform toolbar again? Yes it is still listed as a Firefox add-on.

How do I get it to 'stick' when I do get it back?

I hope somebody here can help me or recommend another free password keeper without 'junk'.

Netscape or Firefox?

by Dedlbug In reply to ai roboform toolbar for n ...

Not sure if you checked Roboform support: http://www.roboform.com/browsers.html , but there seems to be information regarding this. Just to clarify, are you using Netscape or Firefox? Also, what versions? According to the support link, it appears Netscape 9.0 uses the Firefox XPI. If you are using Netscape still, try to install the latest version of Firefox and the XPI for Roboform again.

I did check support and I am using the latest version of FF, 3.5.3. Uninstalling FF and reinstalling and redownloading the new adddon/plugin/adapter makes it work for a while but then new updates make it reboot and I am back to square one.

I will have to check later because I have a doctor appointment shortly.

ok, some other options...

Is there a way to disable Roboform updates? I know they should work, but you know computers. Also, maybe try reverting back to Firefox 3.0. It is still available: http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/all-older.html

Sorry I took so long getting back but had to study for final in PM today. Study was not thorough enough because I only got a B.

I want to revert to FF 3.0 but I am not sure about blocking Roboform updates. I will look into that.

I'm just back from an out-of-town wedding.

I did replace the latest Firefox with version 3.0 and am back to normal.

When I first booted up after the weekend, actually just Friday night and Saturday, I couldn't get to the Internet. Found out the cable was unplugged on the modem--so plugged it back in and checked my email.

Thank you for your assistance.

I left it on for a while and it updated and rebooted and everything (all toolbars) are gone again!!! I am tired and disgusted with the whole thing. I read that FF has a form-filler but I have not found it. Anyway, if my toolbars keep disappearing it won't help.

"You need to download and install RoboForm Password Manager to use extension."

Is this still installed as well?

I would say yes because I thought the program IS the download manager? Are you saying there is more than the basic program I have been using for 3+ years?
