alcatel alter default vlan

Hi I have an alcatel omni access 512 router

and I want to make a modification to the default vlan to change it from
192.168.1.5/24 to
192.168.1.5/23

this the message I get


router /VLAN % modvl 1

(save/quit/cancel)
: 5=255.255.254.0
Invalid mask for current network class.
