I’m romanian (eastern europe), now living in US, WA. Backhome I was independent programmer – Fox Pro, Visual dBase, embedded SQL, creating applications for accounting, inventory, tracking buyers & bills, stuff like that. Here, in US i’m a little scarred – it’s hard to get into a new country, no contacts…. I was taken here first exam on OCP – SQL & PL/SQL. Now i’m thinking to go for Comptia (A+) – backhome i was also a system integrator. But… looking on jobs market I’m skeptic – you have to have years of experience, you have to be at least a genius, C++, so on… What should I do ? I have imagination, I’m ready to hard-work, I’m willing to train myself… but wich direction ? E-mails welcomed !
