All in one printer over terminal services

By lheisey ·
I have an XP workstation with an HP OfficeJet K all in one printer. it is connecting to an W2K Terminal server. I can print from the server to the remote printer, however, from the XP box where the printer is directly connected, I can not print from TS to the local printer. HELP! I am very frustrated and can not see what the problem is.

Does the XP Workstation have a local username with permission to use the printer, it must be the same as the one you login to the terminal server with.

You could share out the printer on the local PC, and then in the terminal services session connect back to it via the UNC share name. Make sure you've enabled permissions on the share for the required username in terminal services.
