All Print Notificaion

By cerrnunann ·
I have a user that is getting printer notificaions for all print jobs sent a network printer. She is the only one receiving these messages. I do not want to disable notificaions to see when her print jobs are printed but she does not need to get a message that all print jobs from other users have been printed. How do I stop the notificaions from other users? (Windows XP)

Check printer permissions...

I would go to the host machine that is acting as the print server. Open the Control Panel > Printers. Find the printer in question and right-click it and select Properties from the menu. Click on the Security tab and find her user name. Make sure and make sure "Manage Printers" is unchecked. That setting is equivalent to Full Control of a shared folder. The Print permission will grant her the obvious, and Manage Documents will allow her to pause or cancel her own jobs, but not anyone else's.
