All software under Win XP ignoring printer defaults

by andrew peters . Updated 21 years, 10 months ago

I am new to Win XP. I have just installed a computer with with an existing HP 840c printer. Having set the defaults to print in reverse order so that output stacks in the correct order, ALL the software ignores the setting and prints items so that I have to manually reverse the order. If I go into the printer settings via the software I find the setting used are for the wrong order of printing. I can change it and get the print in the correct order, but I don’t want to have to do this with every document. I never had this problem with Win 98.
Any ideas why the default settings I require are ignored by all the programs?
