Allow users from outside of domain access to shares within domain

By Lars R ·
Hi,

I have a problem (and I believe I have seen it work somewhere else):

A service running on a computer in a workgroup is running with a given username and password.

The same username and password exists in the domain where the service wants to access a share, and I believe that I have seen it work in another system.

I'm no AD shark, so can anybody tell me if I need to set up some specific trust between AD an non-AD users?

Trust

by Wizard-09 In reply to Allow users from outside ...

You need to setup a trust for the other domain to be able to access your domain.
Now before I give you an answer I/we need to know a few more things.

Are the 2 domains owned by the same company?
Have you got AD using in your network?
What OS is your servers running?
what access will be required from the other domain?
