Alpha Processors

Is this just a rumor that I hear about NT no longer supporting Alpha? If not what other OS support Alpha?

Hi, I assume you are talking about windows2000. It will run alpa but not the following:
DECpc 150 AXP
DEC 2000-500
Multia
AXPpci 33
For more information search technet under dec alpha. Also, check compaq's website. Hope this helps.

No this is not a rumor. The Alpha was droped by Microsoft prior to the full release of WIN2K, the other reponse posted is referencing the x86 based DEC pc's, that are or are not listed on the HCL for WIN2K.

The Alpha processor support for a 64 bit WIN2K was dropped by Compaq and Microsoft prior to end of Beta 2 for Winn 2000.

NT 4.0 SP 6 is the latest MS O/S for the Alpha. Most Alphas now run Linux or the DEC / Compaq Tru64 unix.
