Alternative to Perms.exe?

By kreardon ·
I need to capture the user permissions for every folder on three network drives. I've been using perms.exe to capture the permissions and then importing the data into an Access database. Then removing the permissions data for all the files that it captures.

The problem with this process is that it takes over 6 hours to capture the data for one user on one drive.

You can use showacls.exe that comes with NT reskit. It displays the permissions on files and folder.

Thanks. But showacls.exe doesn't do any better job than perms.exe. It still involves running it for each user on each drive and doesn't let you check just the permissions on just the folders.

I've found a program, saveacl.exe, from Pedestal Software that's doing the job.
