    AN 16BIT PROGRAM RUNNING PROBLEM IN WIND

    one 16 bit program run in win98 and win95 no problem found.
    but when i run in win2000 prof or winxp prof
    one massage is comming
    “an application has attempted to directly access the hard disk, which cannot be
    supported.this may cause the application to function in correctly.”
    choose ‘close’ to terminate the application.
    “close” & “ignore”

    if i press ignore program is running.

    please help me for run this program correctly

      upgrade the program to it’s w2k compliant cousin program.
      The way w2k is designed it’s not allowed that programs access certain parts of the OS to protect itself. That’s why w2k is more stable than win95,win98.

      In Windows 2000 you don’t have this option, but in XP Pro, try runnign the program in Compatibility mode — right click on the program, view the Properties, click the COmpatibility tab and try Windows 95.
