    An IT person request

    by famedaura ·

Okay, my partner has a college deadline approaching, and it wants her to do this: “Contact three people within the IT industry who uses information systems of your interest (networking or programming). List their positions, the information they need, the systems they use and the business function they perform.”
I’ve tried a few other places but they just delete the post without warning. Is it possible to have some IT people answer these? If this isn’t a good place to ask, where could we go to find some answers? It’d be very appreciated.

Do I qualify? What do I call my position? Maybe “My brother’s helper.”?

It’s insurance and with the pandemic little to no office work. The office is simply a business WiFi system. For those that sell insurance they do the BYOD (bring your own device) and about all the information we need to know is if the machine (PC or Apple) has a current OS and can run the Chrome browser. We do have a small collection of loaner laptops at the office which I keep in shape. That’s about it.

I recently retired after a lifetime career in the industry, the last 20+ years with Hewlett Packard.

I was the EMEA Line of Business Manager for Networking Services, the information I needed in my role was a complete 360 view of the business, number of contracts in placer, revenues, costs, service offerings, etc. For this we would use a variety of software solutions, many bespoke for the business but also others such as Saleforce and Oracle
