After a few minutes of searching on various sites for a new laptop (retail laptops failing to possess the most important quality I seek), I’ve decided to call in some competent and trustworthy backup (i.e. the members of my favorite technology community).
Before I bore you to tears (or indifference, which is perhaps far worse), I present my request:
Where, in your opinion, are the best places to look for a laptop in the range of $500 – $1500?
(Note: The laptop must have Windows XP since I refuse to have Vista anywhere near any machine that I own.)
