Android Gallery to be seen in my PC

    by zlzpqx ·

In my Samsung Galaxy J7 Star Android smartphone, I have some pictures in Gallery. When I connect the smartphone to my PC and look up This PC > Galaxy J7 Star > Phone > DCIM > Camera, the thumbnail pictures that appear on my PC screen are NOT AT ALL a replica of the pictures in the smartphone’s Gallery. I am thoroughly baffled.

I shall appreciate help regarding my above problem.

The missing pictures might be in the Whatsapp folder.

        Some additional information from me

        by zlzpqx ·

        In reply to Re: Gallery

Thank you, Kees, for your reply.

I was a little ambiguous in my previous post, though you did correctly guess my exact problem.

My problem was — and continues to be — that This PC > Galaxy J7 Star > Phone > DCIM > Camera on my PC screen contains only a small subset of of the picture contents of my smartphone’s Gallery.

Per your suggestion, I looked up the Whatsapp folder under This PC > Galaxy J7 Star > Phone. None of the three folders under Whatsapp folder contain the other larger segment of the pictures in my smartphone Gallery.

I do recognize that it is difficult for you to diagnose the source of my problem. If you have any other suggestions, you may kindly pass them on to me.

I do highly appreciate your (and Bob’s) highly competent help to people like me who post in this Forum their different problems.

        ——————-

Incidentally, I was surprised that my previous query did get successfully posted in the Forum. In fact, I had made at least eight attempts yesterday to post it, and every time I had obtained a response to the effect that I was posting it on the “wrong” webpage of TechRepublic. (Further, I never saw posting of ANY of the attempted postings.) So I had given up the endeavor in sheer frustration. I have no idea whether the remaining seven or so postings also did get actually posted. If they did, I apologize for that. This is some new problem with TechRepublic’s website; I do not know where to post that very serious problem, so I am posting it here! My apology for that too.

        Thank you again.

As far as I know, the DCIM > Camera folder only contains the photos you took yourself with the camera on your phone.
The Gallery shows more. See if File Manager (in Android) or File Explorer (in Windows) can find them in some folder.

And about disappearing posts, it’s the spam filter that does that. Usually, some moderator revives it if he thinks it is not spam.

Android Gallery to be seen in my PC

Hi the photos will probably be in some other folder like WhatsApp, Facebook, Instagram or something else if you find the photos over there that’s good otherwise you probably would have denied the access to all the photos to the computer. You can correct this by going to settings in your phones then go to photos and turn the access on.

Thank you for the suggestion. But it did not work for me.

        1. My Amazon Photos have not gone in any folder like WhatsApp, Facebook, Instagram.

        2. In Settings for my Samsung Galaxy J7 Star, the is no “Photos” entry. However, the closest I found was Apps > Amazon Photos > Permissions. There were only two items with on-off switch: Contacts and Storage. Storage switch was already on; Contacts was off; so I turned it on just to see if that SOMEHOW works. It of course did not.

        So I am still stumped.

Thank you again for your suggestion.

        I appreciate your follow up.

My stated problem continues to be there. But I am able to access all of my pictures in Google Photos in my Android. So I live with the problem, without much concern, that I see only a small portion of them in my Android Samsung Gallery.

        Thank you again.

Try connecting your phone over the My Phone app to access all your images directly on the PC without wires.
