Animated GIFs in PowerPoint97

How can I get animated GIFs into PowerPoint97? PowerPoint help indicates that on ly the 1st image of a multi-image GIF file is inserted by the image filter. Is there another filter available that will save the whole image file? Or does someone have another work-around?

Hate to be the bearer of bad news. Read the MS Technet article entitled "PowerPoint 97 Doesn't Support Animated GIFs [Q234167]"

Then read the one called "How to Play Animated GIFs in PowerPoint 98 [Q259745]"

Oops, sorry. Read the second one myself. That only works on a Mac. PP2000 supports animated GIFs. PP97 does support .avi files.
