Annoying DVI Icon on monitor

by mikegarvey . Updated 16 years, 1 month ago

After waking the monitor a cyan colored icon appears as it fires up and persists for as long as two minutes. It is a rectangle with the text “DVI” accompanied with a small image of a DVI cable male end. What is it’s purpose and how can I eliminate it or reduce the time it is displayed. It is not mouse clickable. I suspect it may be generated by the monitor. I am running Vista Ultimate SP1; DVI vid card and monitor.
Thanks.
