I am working on a Dell Dimension 1100. The OS is WinXP. Hard drive 400GB and 2GB of ram.
I just cloned my old drive to the 400GB new drive. The new hard drive and the CDRW work fine. The above mentioned drives are both set as primary and secondary masters.During startup the Dell logo screen hangs for a while and then states that my primary and secondary drives cannot be found.
The two drives that work fine are listed as primary and secondary masters in the bios config. Two other entries in the config are drives that are not even installed. They are listed as unknown and set to auto.
How do I get rid of the message that states “Cannot find primary and secondary drives; press f1 to continue or press f2 to enter the bios.
