Another Monitor Problem

By cobe43 ·
I have a Dell P992 monitor thats 3 yrs old. Worked fine until yesterday. The power light on the front panel is flashing green (not amber) and screen is blank. Tried another monitor on my system and it was ok. Is it toast?

A flashing green light indicates that there is no signal from the video card.

This could mean a problem with the video card, which you have eliminated by trying another monitor.

This could mean a loose video cable. Try the same monitor again, making sure it is securly connected.

This could mean damaged video cable. If you have the type of monitor with a cable that can be removed, try a different cable.

If it's none of the above, you might have to weigh the difference between a new monitor and a monitor repair -- if it can be repaired.
