another strike against KDE4

By Jaqui ·
Plymouth

some danged kde4 required tool to STOP YOU from having text only boot.

if I tell my system to NOT use a graphcal boot, then I should get a text only boot. but noooo, the asshats developing KDE decided to make a kde4 required program that FORCES a graphic boot.

a second complete idiocy I found tonight, google gadgets are absolutely required for kde4. why? I don't use any of the google garbage desktop apps, so I don't need google gadgets installed. The google apps do NOT provide anything I need.

That is a completely asinine thing they have done. But I never much used KDE anyway. One more reason not to.

there is zero acceptable reasons for the DESKTOP to F* with the system BOOT sequence.

Especially when you put it that way,

it does sound really bad. I mean, I understood it the first time, it just sounds worse in a well-formulated sentence.

My distaste for KDE 4 keeps growing as I find more and more idiocies in it's design.

it's reached the point that the QT widget set will not be installed on my systems at all any more. KDE showcases the QT widget set at it's worst.

Ah, here's one.

I don't know if it is KDE, but it occurs in the KDE desktop. Not v4, either.

Had a distro with KDE, and I was only using it temporarily, so i didn't bother changing much. I did want to make a new menu with the several apps I was using in it, so I didn't have to dig through the out-of-box menu. So, I copied the menu, which gave me a new menu with the cardboard box icon right next to the K menu. I proceeded to delete and rearrange items in the new menu. Satisfied, I saved the changes. Next boot, I find that the original K menu has also been chopped up the same way as the copy.

Now, I didn't really need it, and the whole install was wiped soon after, but it really p1$$3d me off.
