Welcome to TechRepublic!
Username must be unique. Password must be a minimum of 6 characters and have any 3 of the 4 items: a number (0 through 9), a special character (such as !, $, #, %), an uppercase character (A through Z) or a lowercase (a through z) character (no spaces).
Asking specific questions.
Including as much information as possible.
Raising your point value, (this question has 5 points, what do you expect?)
Rating questions when they are answered and awarding points.
If you have low point values, and don’t rate questions, not as many people will want to help you.
In addition to the first two answers, you can get your questions answered by placing them in the appropriate categories (such as windows for windows errors). Make sure that your questions are clear and understandable with as little web jargon and abbreviations as possible. Make sure the reader knows what it is that you’re trying to ask. Awarding more points will likely get some more people to look at your question. Make the title of the question as clear as possible and make sure that it relates to your problem so that readers that might know the answer can see it right away–this will also increase the number of people reading your questions in their entirety. Best wishes! and remember: be clear about what you’re trying to ask–that’s the biggest reason questions are or aren’t answered.
