Anti spaming software

By jorge.gonzalez ·
Does anyone use eSafe Mail as an antivirus product.

i am interested to know how other industries deals recovering e-mails that have been blocked due to spam words either in the subject or body of the e-mails.

Our office uses a product that blocks e-mails based on a list of words (here are some samples: "bad words", the best, xxx etc). sometimes the e-mails blocked are valid e-mails that should not be blocked.

any comments are apreciated.

thanks

Anti spaming software

by kennedy2k In reply to Anti spaming software

We don't use eSafe Mail but we do block spam. Some of the products looked at during our evaluation took a weighted scale approach. Normal example given during sales calls was the word resume. It can mean a document attempting to summarize someones employability or it can be an instruction to continue an operation.

The software then hits on the word resume and looks for other words like experience, objective, education etc. Each hit being worth a number of points.
Set blocking for resumes at 10 points. Resume = 4 points, objective =3, education =3, experience = 3. All put together = 13 points. It's a rough example but gives you an idea.

Look at products like SurfControl' Email Filter or Tumbleweed's WorldSecure. Those are two that come to mind with that feature.
