Antivirus - AntiSpyware

By LowRyda ·
I have been using Avast Free Home Edition coupled with Zone Alarms Firewall and Antispyware facility for some years and I have been happy with these products.

I was wondering whether anyone can recommend any other software I was maybe after a free suite that is reliable and not to resource hungry.

I also use Avast

and have had no problems to date. A couple of Free Tools to have in your arsenal are MalWareBytes and Spybot. I run them at least once a week or if I suspect something is out of the ordinary.

Download Spybot - Search & Destroy and install it. Update it.

Download Malwarebytes Anti-Malware, install it and update it.

<a href="" target="_blank"><u>Malwarebytes</u></a>

* Double-click mbam-setup.exe and follow the prompts to install the program.
* At the end, be sure a checkmark is placed next to Update Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware and Launch Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware, then click Finish.
* If an update is found, it will download and install the latest version.
* Once the program has loaded, select Perform Quick Scan, then click Scan.
* When the scan is complete, click OK, then Show Results to view the results.
* Be sure that everything is checked, and click Remove Selected.

I've gotten by

with those tools for awhile now. I've been using Spybot for that long that I can't remember when I first started using it. MalwareBytes has been around for awhile but it has only recently been able to stand up to major Virus threats. Avast just humms along in the background but it will soon let you know if somethings wrong.
