You need to make sure that the version you purchase is "okay" for running on a server.

Symantec AntiVirus? Corporate Edition provides scalable, cross-platform virus protection for workstations and network servers across the enterprise. New security features plus centralized policy management enable administrators to manage workstation and server groupings logically and create, deploy, and lock down security policies and settings to keep systems up to date and properly configured at all times.

Symantec AntiVirus? Corporate Edition provides access to unparalleled backend response mechanisms that enable the delivery of fast, reliable, and hands-free virus detection, analysis, and repairs. Even in the face of unusually heavy demand for virus definitions during serious outbreaks, Symantec's scalable, backend architecture ensures that virus cures will be readily available when needed most. On-demand, enterprise-wide virus sweeps initiated from a single console ensure that infectedworkstations and network servers are cleaned quickly and efficiently. NAVEX?, a single, extensible scanning and repair engine, provides the unique ability to update virus definitions and engine extensions?without having to reboot servers or re-deploy application software, thereby maximizing system uptime and minimizing the cost of ownership. To enhance speed, the new version includes smaller virus definition files and multi-threaded server rollout. And for extra security, LiveUpdate? technologyenables administrators to configure automatic updates for virus definitions, including updates for definitions that are outdated.

Norton Professional is for client computers -- not servers:

Symantec's Norton AntiVirus? 2003 Professional Edition combines the world's most trusted antivirus solution* with additional features to protect and recover important files on two PCs.This easy-to-use program removes viruses from email messages and instant-message attachments automatically, without interrupting your work. And automatic updates help defend your PC against new viruses.

Corporate Edition will not be cost effective unless you are looking for a solution for your your enterprise. It is not intended as a single computer solution. The way it would work (for an enterprise solution) is as follows:
1. A central policy server is created that automaticaaly downloads the latest updates form Symantec.
2. Clients are are installed on all computers needing anti-virus protection.
3. New virus definitions are automatically pushed to all connected clients.

The virusdefinitions pushed by the Corporate Edition are the exact same as those that get dowloaded to stand-alone versions of NAV.

Hope this helps
