Any advice on how to get back into IT field after 7 years?

I used to be a LAN admin 7 years ago and have since been home raising children. I would like to enter back to the IT field but have not had much luck. In the past 7 years I have been doing repair work for family and friends and have worked part time jobs so I have somewhat kept up with the skills. Now I feel its time to get back to work full-time and do what I love. I have been sending out resumes for any and all types of hardware/networking jobs and have received a few calls here and there and gone on some interviews but thats where it ends.

Does anyone have any advice? Thank you in advance and I appreciate your feedback!

Look at IT in small business. Less than 50 people. Professional firms (law, accounting, etc.).
