I own a small web-services company on the Metro Detroit area –we’ve been in business for abt 2 yrs, with good success. We’re run by IT professionals who run everything in their spare time, and on weekends, and we target small businesses who need a web presence.
The bane of the business though has been good salespeople. Client referrals are well enough, buts its been difficult to find good salespeople who are motivated to find the projects, while we manage the relationship and develop the work.
Even a 20% commission hasn’t seemed to work. All I ask is that they find one/two mid-price (less than $5,000) per month.
