I can see the network, but Outlook, IExplorer, AutoCAD and some others will not open, Is it any .exe file that doesn't open? What do I do?

but this: "I can see the network, but Outlook, IExplorer, AutoCAD and some others will not open, Is it any .exe file that doesn't open?" What do I do? "

that makes me wonder what your doing.

What does, "I can see the network", mean?

if your logged in on the machine and the applications that were installed, were done so for anyone, then you should be able to launch the programs from the shortcut on the desktop.

However, if the programs were installed only for the user and your not the user, and your account is a standard user account, you won't be able to launch the program.

if your not logged onto the machine and your trying to remotely launch an application, well see above the part of programs installed for single users.

when you ask questions such as this: "I can see the network, but Outlook, IExplorer, AutoCAD and some others will not open, Is it any .exe file that doesn't open? What do I do?"

what do you expect? I could have easily said, like we are supposed to know with what little information you gave? or better, call your help desk. That's what their for or go call 1800-GeekSquad because that's what their for.

I doubt malware is the problem but go ahead and run malwarebytes and if it fixes the problem let us know.

Hold on there.

Just because you didn't understand it, or it does not apply in your situation, does not mean that the information is non-useful. It is accurate information. But you don't say whether any of the points made apply or not.

No need seanferd TR Q&A forum has turned into a useless place

by Screen Gems In reply to Hold on there.

it's got posters asking consumer helpdesk questions, when TR was supposedly a place for IT pros to come to looking for some suggestions when they run across problems with the companies network.

Today, TR Q&A is for for questions like this and it's sad seeing how a forum where IT Pros could come to for information, and a forum with IT pros with experience with Microsoft, Oracle, Novell, IBM, Cisco, 3Comm, even Mac experience, decline to a nitwit Q&A forum or a place where posters ask questions like this for a laugh.

Would lock me out.

I was right behind you, only Seanferd got there first.

Please carry on, Screen Gems, with your otherwise astute help to the clueless, like me.

Yes It is my suppostion, and I've been here for quite some time

by Screen Gems In reply to No need seanferd TR Q&A ...

Let me put it to you this way, when I first came to TR about 8 years ago, you didn't see virtually all the questions in the Q&A forum looking like this. Many were actual IT pros asking for suggestions from other IT pros on issues they see on their company network that stumped them. Granted back then, many companies were going from NT to W2K or Novell to Microsoft, Lotus Domino or Exchange, heck a mix mash of Cisco, 3Comm Bay Networks, ABCS equipment in the server room.

Now, it's please help my computer won't boot, or how come my applications won't launch. Bah

All work

by santeewelding In reply to No need seanferd TR Q&A ...

No play.

That is, except, when you suppose for yourself that it's okay to lash out in your inept way.

You don't have a leg to stand on.

"Virtually all" and "many were" are as waffling as one can get.

Has to be something else going on.
