AOL and Internet Explorer

I have a w98se machine that is running aol 4 on it. When I try to use IE5 to browse I get a dns error, page cannot be displayed. I have tried upgrading to aol 6 & 7 with out any luck. I did the fix microsoft said to do, and that did not work, however, I now cannot ping to the outside, get a destination host unavailble error. The fact that I cannot use IE5 may also have the same effect on trying to get into yahoo chat rooms and using fantasy football on espn. It was working at one time, butwhen I tried to upgrade to aol 6, it has not worked since.

Note: I have reinstalled aol, IE5 and w98se.
