Apache configuration

I installed apache on my linux box. when i test the service httpd it say that the service is runing. I test it if i can see the default page but it return with error. How do i test that my webserver and what is with my configuration.

Are you trying to access the default page using the IP address or hostname? The IP address should definitely work and the only way it shouldn't is if your firewall was setup incorrectly. I guess you can try telnetting to the IP address on port 80 and if the port is open you'll get through but nothing will really show up. If you just get outright denied then you know the port is closed. If you use the command line, type in setup and then go to the Firewall configuration and allow eth0 and then allow WWW and whatever else you might be using in the future. Hope this helps. Good Luck.

Check out your routing table and compare that with the values you put in to the httpd.conf file.
