I just read TR’s article about not being able to boot up on account of a dead battery. Ironically, I’ve had the same problem a few days ago… but with slightly more frustrating problems:
I was doing some work off of the battry power. The usual “Shut down and plug in!” sign came on… but I was almost finished and figured I’d do that when I finished. I didn’t get to finish.
The problem was, my battery died before I could plug it in. This minor frustration aside, I waited until I could plug in my laptop, and then tried to boot up. Nothing. I check the cors and cables, I check the light socket I was getting power from, but still nothing. The battery charge light did not come on. It wouldn’t respond to the power button.
After checking quite a few light sockets now (and 2 days worth of worrying), I’ve decided that I can’t fix this problem by myself.
Once again it’s not that it won’t start off of battery power… it just won’t start at all.
