Does apple give refurbished iphone device as a replacement?

I am not sure but I think they don’t give a fully new packed phone rather than give refurbished devices.

They certainly do, BUT

All Apple’s refurbished products come with the same warranty as a new one.
Have meticulously been checked for everything performance related.
Has all damaged or slightly damaged parts replaced and given a nice new box and accessories.
As noted by Bob, you would be hard pushed to tell the difference

My friend’s story

She was in Ukraine at that time, and then she bought an iPhone X (then it just came out), she immediately noticed that something was wrong with the phone, and a few days later she was freed up for service. They took her phone for a check, after 2 weeks they said that there really was a problem, and only a month later they returned the phone. She was shocked by such a long wait, after a few weeks she broke it and after that, it broke every month, six months later she bought a new iPhone)
