Application Hang-up

By Chilljw1 ·
I have a user trying to run ZyFindi on a Windows NT4.0 sp6a workstation. Whenever she tries to select an index, ZyFindi Locks up. The only way to close ZyFindi, at this point, is to enter the Windows NT task manager and end the ZyFindi task.

Hereare some facts;

1) This version of ZyFindi is 16 bit, and it is, so far as I know, the only program that does this.

2) The computer is an AMD Athlon 650MHz machine /w 128Mb PC100 Ram.

3) I have other workstations configured similarly, and ZyFindi works fine on them.

Any suggestions?
Thanks

This will happen when runnning 16 bit apps that have a bug in the software and using a OS system that runs mostly 32 bit apps,check with the software manufacturer to see if their is a bug fix for the software or a compatible version of the software.

Open Start | Run and enter the command to run the program that works on all the machines. Before running it, however, ensure that the program is set to run within its own address space, which is a checkbox in the Run window. This may help you.

I appreciate the responses I have gotten so far. However, I've tried running the app in a separate memory space, and ZyLabs, (the makers of Zyfindi), does not support their 16-bit apps.

Still searching.
