Application Server W2K

By yetcurt ·
We just purchased an additional Compaq server for our school district network and because of it's speed and size, I wanted to install and run it as an application server but I'm having a hard time setting it up. The application "Office 97" doesn't install right and now I'm receiving a message as the server loads into Windows saying "The Terminal Services Licensing service terminated with service-specific error 29. The device, \Device\Scsi\cpqarry21, is not ready for access yet." Any help would be appreciated.

Sounds like you installed the W2K Terminal Services Licensing when the W2K was setup.
Go to Control Panel - Administrative Tools -
look for TS Licensing. If it's there and you
don't plan to use TS with RDP, then uninstall
it by using Add/RemovePrograms - Add/Remove
Windows Components - scroll down to Tewrminal Services Licensing - uncheck it and it will remove it. Then try Office97 install again. When TS is used, Office97 requires use of the Application Comapatibility Scripts found in the WINNT folder. Read-up and enjoy.
