Applications in non-root drives

In a Window NT4 system what will be the performance of an application, like MS Office, installed in a non-root partition, compared to one installed in the root directory.

Diffence might be 0.000001 %. It's very commonsense practice NOT to install major files in root directories. NTFS is designed so that it hardly makes a difference following a tree path compared to root...
