April Fools!

Ok, It's a new year, new opportunities for cruelty to minors and such. What did you do with your April Fools day?

My wife and I decided last night to play a joke on our kids. We have our kids to school before 7:30 in the morning Monday through Friday. Saturday evening, we decided that Sunday (April Fools day) was going to be Monday.

We started out at 6:45 (we normally get them up around 6:00) and told the kids that we overslept and had to move fast. The older one said, through a sleepy fog, that he was sure it was only Sunday but we insisted. We had their clothes laid out for them and breakfast set. During breakfast, the older one lamented that they must have gone through April first without playing any jokes on each other... he felt that it was just unfair. After rushing through breakfast and hurrying to the car we took a moment to breathe in the car.

Then we asked them if they knew what day it was. It took a while to settle in but the result was great. They had been totally bamboozled.

I know that there are a few folks who are somewhat more cruel that I am so...

what did you do to your kids on April Fools day?

No kids

I told the cats they were getting salmon. They got tuna. They didn't notice a thing.

And I tried so hard too!

Well. If the weather wasn't qute so crappy

by Tig2 In reply to Oooo. All that work and ...

We ended up walking in high wind and cold rain yesterday. ICK! I hate environmental training!

Had my first big fundraiser on Thursday. Raised $700 for the event. I am closing in on the minimum but really want to make it to $5000 this year.

Just think- by this time next month I will be averaging 7 miles a training day (4 days a week). I know- better me than you!

How about you? Still thinking about dusting off the bike???

Bike: yes, Cats: suggestion

Yes, I really am thinking about the ride. I am fairly sure I can make it. It is the raising money part I will have to work at :)

Cats: The next time they ignore you, try that bit about putting some birds or something on the computer display. You might want to get a bit of plexi-glas in front first, though. You say that video, right?

Fund Raising

I do a lot of it. I understand.

Learn to use Matching Gifts. They help a ton.

Be willing to ask for what you want. I ask for a minimum of $60 from each and every person. Many double that, some half it. But it is as easy to ask for $100 as $10. And if you ask for $10, that is likely to be what you get.

Last year, I raised over $3000. This year, I am targeted to raise $5000. I am required to raise $2200.

My calico likes to watch TV. She prefers Animal Planet but Minou (grey kitty) likes Battlestar Galactica. And we installed a "feed" last year- read "birdfeeder right outside the window" that both girls enjoy.

I feel sorry for you tigger. we're going into a cold spell for the next little while. Going to be in the low 70s, maybe even the high 60s with 10 mph breezes and a chance of showers. these people here will be wearing parkas, and complaining. Me..I'll be booking tee times.

Here in the Midwest

by Tig2 In reply to Weather

You would be buying coloured balls because white balls on white snow are hard to find.

Actually it isn't so bad. It was nice-ish today and should rain tomorrow with snow on Wednesday.

I only have to walk 3 miles tomorrow and I have 4 on Thursday. The weekend is only 5 and 4 so that isn't bad.

I have sweatsuits and an attitude problem. It works for me.
