I’m on an INTRANET, we have an external HDD shared out as our Archive drive and its set to “READ ONLY” for the entire drive. (My boss did this). Within the drive there’s a specific folder \\server\Archive\A_ERM\ERM library we added a security group to that which contains a list of about 5 users. These users were given write privileges to this folder. However they are reporting that they cannot write to it. Why is this? Is the fact that the entire drive is set to READ ONLY trump the the fact that we added a specific security group to a particular folder deeper in the tree?
