why and how do u archive files? and after they're archived how do you find them?

Archive, or backup, means to store files or copies in another location.
What kind of files are you backing up?

When windows/outlook Archives files what it is doing is compressing them to use less space, but if you need to open them they need to uncompress again, which adds time to open them.

I don't have any specific files I want backed up, I just want to know how. I didn't know archiving and backing up were the same thing. Backups can be done on floppys, cd-r's and so on, so now I know thats how files are archived.
