Arcserve 6.6

By znayman ·
After installing SP 2a on netware 5.1 my backups of my NSS volumes have droped from 88kbm to 1kbm. When I back up the sys. volumes on the same servers the backup works.
The error that is generated for the NSS volume is E3011 failed to open file. Befor the service pack was applied the backup worked correctly.

As per CA, Arcserve 6.6 is not compatible with netware 5.1 we had to upgrade to Arcserve 7. Also if you attempt to back up an NSS Volume that will also not work. It has to be a compressed volume. Novell has to finish devloping an API call, in order for it to work on an NSS volume.

Arcserve 6.6 is absolutely compatible with NW 5.1!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Arcserve 6.1 will not work on either 5.0 or 5.1.

I hope you applied the service pack for a specific reason, and not just because it was the latest service pack. This is a VERY good reason to be hesitant in installing service packs unless it fixes (or might potentially fix) a specific problem that you have.
I would either back off the service pack (assuming you can) or apply the latest sp for AS6.6. If these don't work, you can try deleteting the entire Arcserve directory, reinstalling, and reinstalling the latest service packs for AS6.6.
